Refills & Packaging
Every pen comes with instructions about how to open the pen and what kind of refills to use. I use standard refills for all my pens which you can purchase at any office supply store or online. You can customize your ink color, style of ink, and thickness. It’s up to you.

This is the elegant style pen. To open, twist the lower portion of the pen in the opposite direction of how you would to expose the cartridge for writing. Once the pen opens, remove cartridge with spring. SAVE the spring. Bring the cartridge to the store and match the shape to whichever kind of color and style you would like. To put the pen back together, put spring on the of the cartridge and put it into the lower part of the pen. Twist the two halves back together.

This is my skinny pen. It’s also the same for the pen-stylus. Locate the center band of the pen, put one hand on either end of the pen and pull apart from the center band. You might have to pull harder than you think, it’s okay. Once the pen is in two parts untwist the black end and remove cartridge. This is a standard “cross style refill”. Replace with a new one. Simply twist the new one in and push the two halves back together.
Every Merrily Made pen, pencil, stylus comes packaged. You are welcome to choose your packaging.
Velvet pouch and clear tube:
Standard single items come with either a black velvet pouch or a clear plastic tube.
It’s your choice. Some hints: if you are purchasing a stylus or a stylus-pen, the velvet pouch is great to have along side your touch screen device. The pouch is also a little dressier than the tube. The tube however allows for easy wrapping and is a great way to send it in a padded bag as a gift. Either way, both are fantastic choices to complete your selection.
If you would like a single maple box, they cost $5.00. The actual wooden box comes with a white cardboard sleeve for protection and allows you to wrap the box with ease. It’s a great presentation to give a pen in a box.
If you would like a double maple box, they cost $5.00. The actual wooden box comes with a white cardboard sleeve for protection and allows you to wrap the box with ease. It’s a great presentation to give a pen and pencil set in a box.
All items come with hangtags that describe how each pen is made, care instructions and information about standard refills.
