When I think of summer in my veggie garden, I think watermelon. There is nothing juicer than a fresh slice of watermelon on a warm summer’s day- spitting the seeds and watching the puffy clouds roll by. Watermelons turn ripe towards the end of the summer. Once I harvest the watermelon, I slice it about an inch thick and put it in the dehydrator. Once dried, I mash the remains and combine them with a transparent polymer/resin. I roll it into thin sheets and make each pen one at a time. Each individual pen is different; you can actually see the seeds and watermelon. The unique texture and color comes directly from the watermelon. The pen uses a standard cross refill, easy how to instructions and a story card are included.
