this class is for you... fun, tidbit full workshop
that is the ideal to expand your artistic horizons.
Using just black and white plus
one color of your choice, you will make a fabulous
sampler of millefiore beads that you can use to make
a variety of beads for stringing. You will learn to
make more than a dozen canes that may be combined to
make more complex canes.
In addition, expand your
knowledge of bead shapes. Learn about conical,
pillow, oval and twist beads that can enhance your
ideas. The combination of color, size, proportion
and shape of your polymer designs are limitless.
Come prepared for fun and endless possibilities.
Expanding Your Bead
Repertoire
Level: Beginner and Intermediate
This fun workshop will teach you how to expand your
repertoire of bead shapes to include bi-cones,
pillows, triangular, rounds, ovals, twists and tubes
while learning how to make these shapes successfully
using polymer clay. Learn how the variety of bead
shapes can enhance or establish unusual scale and
proportion to your jewelry. The ancient form of
trade beads is not lost. You will leave with an
enormous amount of information and new techniques
that you can apply to your polymer designs.
All the Tricks
Level: Beginner
This workshop will provide you all the necessary
skills to get started with your polymer designs.
Learn the basics from preparing the polymer, baking
techniques, sanding, making holes, storing
unfinished pieces, and simple cane work. We will
make canes and different shaped beads for a variety
of jewelry applications. Learn about the importance
of color harmonies and scale. This class is for all
students.
Mosaics With Polymer
Level: Advanced Beginner and
Intermediate
If you know the basics you will love this class.
Learn how to turn your polymer canes, stamps and
textured sheets into beautiful mosaic tiles. Make
multiples and you’ll have artwork that is ready to
be framed. We will work with simple canes while we
focus on texture, shape, size and repetition. Come
explore what a simple polka- dot, stripe, or square
can truly look like.
Herbal Inclusions
Level: Intermediate and Advanced
Learn how to expand on the cane work technique using
transparent polymer and herbal inclusions. You will
learn the differences between Premo and Fimo
transparent polymer and their important attributes.
Adding ground herbs and natural inclusions will give
the polymer unique color and texture that can easily
be worked into your already hones skills. Sanding
techniques will be discussed as well. Come make a
variety of patterns in all shapes and sizes and
apply them to different shaped beads, boxes,
pendants and more. This class will definitely
provide you the skills and techniques to advance
your work to the next level.
Trade Beads for Modern
Times
Level: All Levels
This class is for you if you are looking to add
special final touches to your projects with unusual
embellishments or you are interested in learning how
to make “modern day” trade beads in minutes. Come
learn how the technique of ancient trade beads can
be applied to polymer clay. You will make handfuls
fanciful beads which you can later use for your
scrapbook, lamp-shade fringe, curtain tie-backs,
jewelry, bookmarks, baskets, …I’ll let you use your
imagination. Come join us for a fun class for all-
no previous experience is necessary.
